If you're gonna do this you need to throw some sources out there.
GGG vs. Jacobs PPV numbers are out

I hear ya, except the official numbers never actually come out anymore. HBO & Showtime stopped releasing official ppv numbers a few years ago. Now it's the promoters who release the numbers and there's no real accountability to them. Best way to tell how a ppv did is how fights are made following it.Comment

96k was a fake number from a guy that has no connections in boxing anymore.
I could be mixing up fights, but I think the 150k number was said by Mark Taffert, who at the time was in charge of ppv at hbo. He had a responsibility to shareholders to not release misinformation so if it was him who said it (maybe I'm wrong) then there is a good chance it was close to the true number.Comment

More importantly, people are finally learning about Canadian PPV buys.
How much of Canadian PPV buys for Lemeiux? Does anybody really think USA based PPV buys for Lemeiux did more than 10k?
How many Canadian PPV fans cared to watch GGGv vs Jacobs? Considering the fact their dude lost to GGG or Jacobs was an underdog?
This fight probably did 150k Max.
Now how many Canadian PPV buys will want to pay for Alvarez vs Chavez Jr?Comment

Uhhhh, no.Not all (Canadian market still missing) figures are there yet, but the fight drew at least 220k buys. Fight generated +14 mio on PPV revenues and 4.9 mio at the gate.
GGG walks away with 4.75 mio and Jacobs with 3.25 mio. The PPV did better than expected, therefore both guys split an additional 3.8 million 60/40.
220K buys is about twice what the actual number is.Comment
