Until boxing goes back to same day weigh-ins there's nothing to see here. Just another reason to try and justify why GGG looked ordinary against Danny.
And all this he weighed 185 stuff is nonsense. He looked 175 - 180 at the most. They're aren't many guys who can rehydrate 25 lbs in a day.(Brook comes to mind. Not aware of any others).

Definitely not on the level as a tactic, but Loeffler needs a penalty in the contract for failing second day weigh in to protect fighter.

What's the big deal everyone arguing? It's so funny before the fight most said if GGG won this would legitimize his resume. Now people are dumping on DJ. It was a good fight. People on here acting like they never saw a 2-1 baseball game or a 17-14 nfl game. It was a close contest, happens in all sports. DJ was not interested in winning the IBF m.w. title, he figured size advantage would help him. He was wrong. Nothing else to see here.

So GGG would have to make 170 on fight day, even if Jacobs had told everybody before hand that he didn't want to challenge for the IBF belt.
I'm pretty sure now that GGG and his team knew all along that Danny had no intention of showing up for the fight day weigh in. They were very laid back about the whole thing .. no complaints from Loeffler and Golovkin or even from Abel, who I expected to have a lot to say about it!
So why did nobody from Danny's camp say anything about it while the fight was being made?
Because title belts matter, and the more belts people believed were going to be on the line, the more they would want to tune in and watch it.
