Jacobs is a great fighter and he showed it yesterday maybe thats why GGG underperformed but anyone else feel like he doesnt look like the same fighter that he was 2 years ago even? I might be reaching just want to know if anyone else feels this way.
Wasn't that around the same time he started doing testing?

He just fought a different kind of fight last night. He's not always seeking to destroy above all else. He ate shots from Brook so he could run over him. He didn't want the stigma of going the distance with a ww and he did get in a hurry. With Jacobs, he wasn't rushing in and getting caught. He jabbed more instead and fought a more technical fight. He's in the big leagues now.

He fought a real MW that could box and he was exposed, his resume is terrible when a WW that beat one top guy is the best guy on it.

I believe so and have been saying it for a while. It shouldn't surprise anyone...he's 35 years old. He will look better against guys who don't move well, but with guys who can get to positions faster than him, he's going to struggle to get his shots off. There's a fine line between cutting off the ring and following your opponent around.

It does look like age is creepy up on him..

He looked much fresher and explosive in his early hbo fights vs Macklin, proska, etc.. the last 3 or 4 fights he has looked sluggish, especially in the Brook and Jacobs fights..

Kinda reminds me of hagler when he fought mugabi and Leonard

Put a Macklin and Proksa level of opponent in front of him and he'll look great again.

Not sure if he's slowing down. I think Jacobs is just a bad match up.

Thats what i mean. He just looks less crisp and explosive with his shots and looks sloppy at times. Could be the competition though who knows.
