"Boxing is entertainment, so to be successful a fighter must not only win but he must win in an exciting manner. He must throw punches with bad intentions." - Cus D’Amato

I like boxers who use their skill to create openings to attack. I don't like boxers who are there to grind a decision out, they bore me stiff unless they're good to watch and punishing their opponent. Think Ali, Tyson, Duran, Prince Naseem, RJJ...all entertaining with a unique way of winning. Mayweather and Ward are great, but there were so many times they could have thrilled us, but chose to play it safe even when the fight was easy. For example, Mayweather refusing to take out or stop Baldomir, even when he was a walking target all night. I remember during that fight Manny Steward saying it best, "i'll tell you something right now, the greats he says hes better than.. they wouldn't do this...I know Hearns would have gone after him", even after booing and fans leaving (including Tiger Woods) he still didn't let it hang for his fans - that's why he'll never be a better fighter than Ali despite his claims. Being a sound boxer isn't enough. You have to be entertaining.

Lol at this fanboys now loving boxing once GGG fail to deliver.

What now HBO are going to talk about how important is the Jab? lol they been ****ting on boxers for years in favor of KOs an brawlers. And casuals got brainwashed and calling boring other boxers wins.

Now that GGG two biggest test, Lemieux and Jacobs have been a snooze fest in the logic of HBO and casuals, they may talk about the importance of strategies and winning rounds and not taking unnecessary risk by fighting reckless to please the brainwashed crowds.

This is not an intelligent passtime. I have other intelligent passtimes.

This is for cavemen. Scared cavemen who shamelessly take advantage of the rules to win a decision are boring & it's not truly a matter of skill so much as willingness.
