Comments Thread For: Jessie Vargas Targets May/June Return - Tim Bradley Rematch

Former two-division champion Jessie Vargas is hoping for a late spring to the ring. The last time we saw Vargas in action, he dropped an unanimous decision to Manny Pacquiao in November. Prior to that he stopped the then unbeaten Sadam Ali to capture the vacant WBO welterweight title in their March, 2016 bout that was televised by HBO.

I'm not particularly interested in this rematch but with Bradley coming off his layoff he'll need a soft touch like Vargas

Makes since both guys need fights. I think it would sell depending on the location.

      Winner is still relevant.
      Loser takes a step back.

Can't see this landing or a network jumping on this fight... Wonder if Bobbi will try to PPV this?

Good fight. Tim needs to avenge that 12th round.

It wasnt exactly a soft touch. Sure bradley won most of the rounds but he wasnt dominating. Most of the rounds were pretty close and then he ran into a vicious overhand right in the last round. Who knows if vargas would have finished him but if bradley was the one who got screwed everyone would cry for a rematch

I agree. I still can't believe that ref. Stopped it with 10 seconds left.

I thought Bradley was winning the fight pretty easy, Vargas just isn't on that level. What happened at the end ****** for Vargas even though I didn't think he was gonna stop Bradley. Bradley coming off a year layoff and him being a level above Vargas in my opinion makes it a soft touch for him. He's not gonna come back straight out the gate and ask for Thurman or Porter or Brook

The first fight was actually pretty competitive and entertaining. I think vargas has improved in the 2 fights since and who knows how bradley will look after over a year layoff. Not only that but the first fight was a legit screwjob. I hope tim bradley fights cotto next but if cotto ducks again then this is the best fight for both. If bradley fights cotto then i think vargas should fight someone like lamont peterson or danny garcia or maybe even jeff horn
