So who won the fight? The champ, the aggressor, the guy who threw more punches, the guy who landed more punches, the guy who landed more punches in 9 of 12 rounds, the guy who got the knockdown and hurt his opponent multiple times but never got knocked down or wobbled himself, Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin.

Exactly this!! Anybody who ignores what the FACTS say and believe Jacobs won doesn't know **** about boxing! GGG convincingly won the fight against a MUCH bigger man. Jacobs was much taller, had a significant reach advantage and outweighed him by upto 20lbs. Despite all this, he didn't once take the fight to GGG. He didn't once hurt him which is why GGG kept coming forward all night. So much for having a 90% KO percentage lol. Meanwhile Jacobs got dropped and staggered several times which is why he got on his bicycle early on. Also, take a look at both guys faces at the end of the fight if you need more convincing. Luckily, virtually all of the ringside experts (judges, tv and boxing media) had GGG winning the fight too.

Can you imagine the outcry if Jacobs had achieved the FACTS posted above and lost the fight?!?!

Unfortunately there's a bunch of racists who can't accept somebody like GGG taking over boxing. The same thing happened in the Kell Brook fight. GGG broke his eye socket, had a knockdown incorrectly not counted, wobbled him multiple times, battered him in the 5th forcing his trainer to throw the towel in and sent his man straight to hospital afterwards yet people still say he was losing the fight and it wasn't a good performance lol.

Well done GGG! Another great performance which the FACTS and ringside experts all agree on unlike the uneducated racist McDonalds workers on this forum lol.

Always been a G supporter, always raved about his skills ......He didn't win the fight.I think Jacobs actual got it right ..he took it by two rounds. At least now Ginger might find some balls and stop fighting chinny welterweights and the fight that a lot want will happen.Personally I think G . should clear this situation up and fight Jacobs next!

Outlanded him and hurt him so... he did win but... GGG had an off night... he could not ajust... something was wrong. He didn't go for the kill once he had jacobs hurt. Something messing with his mind: Canelo, injury, girl, age,....
Plus GGG was coming forward. Since when can you win three belts off a champ by circling backwards all night, getting out landed in 9 of 12 rounds, getting knocked down, and getting badly hurt in at least one other round, while never knocking down or wobbling your opponent? The Floyd Mayweather era has totally ruined boxing because now these dumb casual fans think that just because you retreat constantly and make it difficult for your opponent to hit you as much as normal that that means you won the fight. The truth is it doesn't matter how much you lower your opponent's offense, you still have to have your own offense that is better than your opponent's.

Jacobs moved a lot and lowered GGG's offense, but as a result of moving and playing defense all night, Jacobs also lowered his own output significantly, which resulted in GGG still outlanding him by a healthy margin.

I mean, is it really that hard to tell? GGG bossed every single category in this fight except for power punches landed, but GGG's jab is like a power punch and he outlanded Jacobs by about 70 jabs while Jacobs only outlanded him by 20 power shots, most of him were slapping shots that didn't even do as much damage as GGG's clean jabs did.

So there's actually no way in hell anyone could score the fight for Jacobs, in my opinion. Not anyone who knows how to score boxing matches, anyway. But I think what happened is people were so shocked that the seemingly invincible GGG was actually looking human, they just assumed that meant Jacobs was winning. Just like how some people gave Andre Ward pity rounds after he got knocked down, or "he's doing better than he was before" rounds, because he was getting dominated so badly at first that just by making it closer, they thought that meant Ward was winning.

This is the same kind of thing. Jacobs outperformed expectations big time. GGG underperformed expectations. But that is not the same thing as Jacobs winning the fight.
I completely agree.

Charlo beats Golovkin running away after what we witnessed last night. Bigger, hungrier, more powerful version of Danny; with a more resolute jab.

The secrets out. GGG better get Canelo in the ring and retire. A lot of those bigger guys at 154 are going to come to 160 hunting.

It was a great fight And neither fighter walked away really beaten. That being said clearly Golovkin won the fight by at least 3 points. I think in a lot of fans minds they held Golovkin to a much higher standard and gave rounds to Jacobs just for surviving. I watched the fight a couple of times and while Jacobs definitely impressed me he lost. I also believe a rematch would be a fan favorite and the fight was so competitive Jacobs deserves it. Jacobs is clearly the best middleweight after Golovkin but I wonder how much longer he can make the weight. I'd rather see a rematch than a see Canelo get a shot he clearly doesn't deserve since he has avoided any real fights since throwing his middleweight title away so he could avoid Golovkin and fight smaller older fighters. Lets see a rematch!

I don't like the cries of robbery every time there is a close fight. GGG deserves the W imo but even in losing Jacobs makes a name for himself.

Close fight and a round seperating each fighter...personally i thought jacobs just edged it due to his desire to push through ...golovkin on the other hand was not firing properly and to me seemed a little flat and with one gear....go's to show you can't always steam roll your opponent and get the ko....we are so use to seeing golovkin knock out his challenger that we are shocked when its a 12 round close fight....rewatching the fight now

Couldn't agree more. I saw it as GGG having the upper hand, pressuring Jacobs with more efficient and powerful output. To call it a robbery whichever way one saw it is typical BS (boxingscene) knee jerk reaction. The arse of the Internet really. Not a lot in the way of nuance. It sure is hard to find the balanced posts in the haystack of babytalk.
