Golovkin Let Jacobs Punch him in the Face All Night

    Obviously

I have had to listen to BS like this for the past 2 years. If a set of fans ever needed a reality check in my 11 years on here it is the Golovkin fans.

He found his level last night. He is and has always been a B level fighter with A+ power. Last night he fought with his first solid B, B+ fighter and arguably lost.

Nothing wrong with that - Jacobs is a very good fighter, so is Golovkin. But what I have had to listen to and the unrealistic comparisons which have been drawn, I am going to revel in this latest reality check, grab a beer and join me.

I also have a message for the Golovkin fans - STOP the crazy historical comparisons and unrealistic views. Your hero is a good fighter, but you have now seen his competitive level, enjoy the rest of his career like I will with realistic expectations. He is fun, exciting, and great for boxing. But he is NO Hagler, no Monzon, no Hopkins. etc.

You are making it seem like hagler, monzon and some greats didnt have close fights with regular guys. SMH.

Its like some people here got really happy because GGG went 12 rounds. Like that was some kind of lose to him.

I picked ggg to KO in the 6th round. I was dead wrong, but dont make it seem like jacobs was toying with GGG or something near that. They guy got dropped , buzzed, his head was flying back alot of times in the fight, he ate jabs just like the rest of the previous guys ggg fought.

So you(ggg haters) are the ones who need to cut these BS. Have a great day

Yeah he did and yet at the end of the fight, Jacobs looked like he came back from WW2 and GGG looked exactly the same as he looked at the start of the fight.

The hype level is Matthysse all over again.

Now, Golovkin is better than Matthysse, but the hype level was every bit as over the top.

How a fighters skin holds up (bruises and cuts) is not a factor in how you score a fight. Some people bruise and cut easy, others don't.

Alright if we ignore the knockdown, the volume of punches, outweighing ggg or visible damage then yes I agree Jacobs won this one in spectacular fashion for sure!

Exactly. Golovkin was unscathed and unaffected. The haters gonna hate.

He didn't "just go 12 rounds". Its not like he was way ahead and the result was never in danger. He was life and death with the first good fighter he's fought or lets say his first real step up in class from where he had previously been fighting.

I'm far from a GGG hater, I am as neutral a boxing fan as you are likely to come across on here. I am self admittedly a hater of his fans though, and that is exactly what this thread is about. Obviously the thread title is aimed at all the guys who have been falsely claiming he takes punches on purpose, its pathetic.

Hopefully said fans will realise now that he doesn't have any head movement, and its one of his major flaws.

TS you are way off if you think that was Golovkin actually in his proper style. He never would have gotten to silver past guys like Dirrel(which is several levels over Jacobs) fighting like he fought. Sanchez gave him a horrible style, the thing about these guys that have been boxing from a young age, they almost can't think for themselves and will do what the corner asks for. Boxing a longer, taller, quick fighter has always been a no-no. I'm barely a fan of the guy now because if that's how he(courtesy of Sanchez) is gonna treat anyone with some power, he is not worth watching. I wonder if it is too late to fix him at this point, he badly needs a new trainer but I doubt it will happen.

Yeah so unaffected that the fight was pretty much in the balance and he wasn't prepared to be more aggressive, hmmm I wonder why that was?...
