it was barely a good fight because of a couple of rounds.....Foty has to be great all around.trust me this fight will be forgotten by the end of the year.

after the fight i wasn't sure cause for me it was such and intense fight to watch rooting for rocky yet, seeing shadows of a prime body punching barrera.

just having seeing it again just now, im a say yes, its worthy of a meniton for fight of the year, i still yelled at the tv screen, and i think for the skill level of this fight i doubt it get forgotten by years end. but who knows we still got more fights coming up. and castillo v. corrales III, is so close, and it will be great no doubt.

to change the subject a bit, i just watch chacon, v. boza edwards, and i remember a poster here said this was one of the greatest fights he's ever seen and i got to say it was a great fight, these two threw some bombs, great action.

but to summerize, i belive juarez v. barrera is worthy of foty canidate of course its still earyl in the year

Brewster-Liakhovich is still in the lead. I don't recall that many great fights this year so I don't know what Parody is referring to. If Cintron-Estrada is being called one of the best fights this year, then you know it's been a pathetic year as far as that sort of thing goes. Think of it this way:

By this time in 2005, we had already seen:
            1) Morales-Pacquiao I
            2) Arce-Hussein I
            3) Castillo-Corrales I

By this time in 2004, we had already seen:
            1) Byrd-Golota
            2) Klitschko-Sanders
            3) Marquez-Pacquiao

Brewster-Liakhovich was only better than one fight on both of those lists combined!

the brewster fight was realy good, and i'd also say that mormeck-bell is in the running, the barrera fight is def not fight of the year, **** even cintron-estrada was better. barrera was too unwilling too exchange especially in the mid to late rounds.

It was a good fight, I enjoyed it but it wasn't FOTY. FOTY needs constant slugging from both parties. I didn't see much slugging from both fighters until the closing seconds of most rounds.

It can't really be the FOTY if it was a draw. There should be a winner for the FOTY. The Hopkins, Tarver fight has a good chance of being the FOTY, but we shall see because there are many more fights to come this year.

lol the scores were added wrong. Barrera officially won the fight by split decision.
