Barrera-Juarez: FOTY Material?

Not FOTY material, but only because Barrera fought smart. If there were more big exchanges, it could be a possibility.

I enjoyed watching the veteran work though, he had a very effective gameplan and I thought MAB won the fight by 1 point

It didn't end in a draw.It ended up in a split decision because of a ****** scoring error.The judge that originally scored the fight 114-114 actually had it 115-114 Barerra

no, i didn't think it was even close to be a foty canidate. it wasnt that good. i guess im just dissapointed in barreras performance after the 7th round

No.....There will be many more and already been a few better namely Brewster/Lyakovich.

No way. At least I hope not. It was a decent fight, but not FOTY material. It wasn't close to Corrales-Castillo I of last year. Or, Gatti-Ward, or Barrera-Morales.

Rocky Juarez really needs to be more active and throw more punches. He's a younger fighter, so he should have the energy to battle more. But, he doesn't. It lost him the Soto fight, imo. And, it likely cost him the Barrera fight, although with the smell of the scoring change fiasco, I'm not sure he could have won the fight anyway.

If Barrera-Juarez is FOTY material, then it's going to be a very disappointing year, esp with all the big hyped fights yet to come.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Castillo-Corrales III on June 3 on Showtime.
