Whether you like punch stats or not, they show what I thought I saw in the fight, ie Golovkin controlling with his jab a lot and Jacobs throwing more power punches.

Interesting comparison with the Kovalev/Ward fight:
    - higher total punches: Golovkin/Kovalev
    - higher total jabs: Golovkin/Ward
    - higher number power punches: Kovalev/Jacobs

Hopefully this shuts down that noise of GGG beating a prime Hopkins.

Watching a subpar Boxing Nation stream, I thought Jacobs won. The commentators thought he won pretty comfortably. I'll need to watch it with no buffering, skipping, and/or commentary to get my genuine interpretation.

I wouldn't say robbery or that I'm devastated by results but I had Jacobs winning

Close fight, but had Jacobs winning by enough to call it a bad decision.
GGG looked like a normal pressure fighter, kinda one dimensional.

Haha robbery? Ggg won by atleast 3 rds. It was easy to score. He beat jacobs who everyone said was 2nd best mw. Weighed 183 fight night. Bigger, faster, harder puncher, better boxer and weighed as a LHW and got beaten and controlled by GGG. Yeah GGG would beat Hopkins, Hopkins of course would lie and cry and say he was cheated somehow. I think Hagler would have beaten GGG pretty handidly though. But right now GGG is the man. Jacobs could move to super mw and clean house though. He aint no chump, but also he aint no champ at mw haha. Decent fight, no need for rematch.

I understand how boxing scoring works very well. You misunderstood my point. You can bust up somebody really badly over 4 rounds including a knock down or two and still lose the other 8 rounds and lose the fight. My point is that I thought Jacobs landed more power punches when I wrote this 30 minutes after the fight. This morning's release of the Compubox stats confirmed my impression.

I agreed with both HBO-Letterman and NSB score cards that it was all to be settled on the last round, which Golovkin clearly won.

Maybe because Jacobs did better in the second half of the fight which is what people see more recently. 3 of the first 4 rounds + knockdown, one of the mid rounds which I forget exactly which one, round 9 and 12 are clear cut GGG rounds to me. That already makes him the winner, and there were some very close rounds too that I can't give to Jacobs every single time.

Typical case of one guy landing slightly more but many of which are grazing shots while missing many shots, while the other guy is making everything count and is the one doing real damage.
