I don't know. He didn't take a sustained beating or anything - Dimitrenko hit him with a good shot and he never recovered. Dimitrenko could've tagged me in while the referee was counting and I'd have been able to finish him off from there, Granat was all over the place. That's heavyweight boxing.

LOL... losing to Dimitrenko by 1st round knockout at this point does not do Granat any good. He got pushed back a few times against Franz Rill & even slightly staggered in the 1st round of their fight but I didn't think this would happen. Sasha was clearly timid at first until he caught him with that hook. It was like the lights went off in his head & he took him out. Hats off to Dimitrenko for winning this fight after looking so bad the last few years. Well it just got him somewhat of a career rejuvenation so let's see if he can gain his confidence back & give another good account of himself. I had written him off years ago. I don't know if this was a fluke thing for Granat but he was clearly looking past Dimitrenko talking about wanting Helenius next. This loss will either wake him up & be a lesson learned or maybe he just wasn't as good a prospect as people thought. I think this is a situation where he needs to immediately rematch him if possible. He will have to pay Dimitrenko a lot more because he could have options now after this win.

but if he can't take Dimitrenko's power how is he going to match up against Povetkin, Joshua, Wlad, Wilder, Ortiz, Parker etc etc??

Granat was so disappointed after the fight and said he might retire. I'm sure he'll be back but he needs to take some time off.
