Comments Thread For: Golovkin vs. Jacobs: It May Come Down To Who Lands Flush First

Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) will enter this fight like he always does - prepared for anything that comes his way and dealing with it accordingly. He has prevailed against fighters of every style, sometimes early, sometimes late, but always with crushing brutality.

In my opinion, Jacobs needs to sit down on a punch and plant something on Golovkin early. I think it's important that he lands the first big punch. Kind of like when Mayweather came out and sat down on a right hand against Pacquiao.

Sorry but Jacobs's style consists on bouncing around and caught in you off guard. Golovkin is too damn educated to get caught like that. Jacobs needs to stand in the center and trade and GGG will outbox him and push him back.

      The end

      Golovkin by KO round 9

I'll be watching for GGG to move around and jab a little in the early stages to avoid an early flurry by Danny. Jacobs is a really fast sstarter. That's where he has his chance. Outside of that, we're probably looking at a mid round stoppage in favor of Golovkin.

It's comical when I read this crap these writers act like if GGG has this China Chin , The one who's going down if they land flush on him is Jacobs

I don't think that would be a good idea. Jacobs cannot afford to just be the first to land something flush on Golovkin and then admire his work. Jacobs must follow that punch up by backing GGG up and then subsequently punching him without ceasing.

If the fight turns into a scientific boxing match, then he loses rather easily because Gennady is just too fundamentally sound to try and simply out box. He must win this fight by knockout.

Most definitely. I wasn't suggesting he land a punch and admire his work. I certainly wasn't suggesting that he fight like Floyd. I only drew the comparison because I thought it was smart that Floyd came out and planted one on Manny to set the tone. If Jacobs wants to win, he has to be able to back Gennady up. He'll need to have great footwork and movement as well.

Triple G takes out Jacobs within 4. I believe that Jacobs' pride will convince him to try and trade with Golovkin early ending with Jacobs going out on his shield ie Brook

Golovkin uses the first round to measure the distance, Jacobs needs to vary it up a bit so that Golovkin can't settle, which might include taking a risk or two along the way.

Its more likely going to be chin vs chin, and from what I've seen so far Golovkin's noggin seems like its made of concrete.
