The extra weight will affect jacobs' stamina in the later part of the fight. Assuming it goes that far. So in that sense it's not an advantage.

Mayweather and Pacquiao had 10lb size disadvantage many times in their biggest fights - Corrales, Castillo, Ortiz, Baldomir, Maidana had 10-12lbs on Floyd on fight night. But May and Pac always came through.

While GGG hasn't proven to be as good as May or Pac, Jacobs isn't even as good as some of the guys May/Pac were being outweighed by. GGG will be fine.

The solution is harsh financial penalties in the fight contract which you typically see for big fights. I guess in this instance they had to soften their stance on certain issues just to get Jacobs in the ring.
