we have no idea how Golovkin will react to upper-level opponents and a range of styles, because he has mainly fought C/D fighters who were limited and "available"

if GGG wanted fans to favor him in such fantasy matchups, he should have fought some of the bad boys he has been avoiding

I'm not a GGG fan, but nice try anyway. I don't just look at resumes, I look at fighting styles and what skills are brought to the fight. Notice in my original post I didn't say who would win, I simply stated that Hopkins wouldn't fight him at 160. He preferred to feast on journeymen and guys who were much smaller. He drained himself to fight at 160 so he could break Monzon's record and not have to rematch a still prime RJJ. He priced himself out of that rematch and didn't fight him until Jones was damaged goods.

GGG is durable, has power, and enough boxing fundamentals that he would be able to give Bernard a tough fight. Bernard liked to fight up close and dirty. He would be tasting some leather against GGG on the inside just like he did with Calzaghe.

Now RJJ at 160 would have toyed with GGG for 12 rounds to a UD victory in my opinion.
