He has faced 0 p4p fighter..0 hof worthy fighters..has literally won 1 world title in the ring and that was from a guy who had just won a vacant title..I mean who has anyone he has beaten ever beaten?? Yea he has a lot of ko's but who is he knocking out and who have they beaten?
Well he has a win over Murray who should have a win over Martinez and a win over Macklin who should have a win over Sturm who should have a win over Delahoya.. Is it bad that I had to do that? Lol...

The marketing behind Golovkin has been nothing short of amazing. Loeffler and Golovkin both know how to build their brand and Golovkin earned everything he got and deserves all the success he's getting because he worked for it. He took those HBO dates that were offered to him and made the most of it. He marketed himself as "Mexican Style" and was able to build a huge following with 342K twitter followers and over 1M Instagram followers.

A lot of fighters, and fans of those fighters, are jealous of Golovkin and the success that he has received. They feel that it should've been them and not him. But the reality is that they didn't work hard enough and that's what it comes down to at the end of the day.

Wow. Excellent article. I'd never seen the Apple commercial. I'm glad to see he's doing so well. His exciting style helps sell him. He's a lot of fun to watch.

I think the Jacobs fight should only help him even further along. I thought he was doing pretty well when they had him on the ESPN show and when he got the Jordan deal. Good for Gennady!

Let the same GGG haters be butthurt day and night. The rest of us enjoys GGG, the biggest real star in the sport and by far the most exciting and entertaining fighter. Not a fabricated ethnic star like Canelo who only has mexican and mexican american casuals backing him. A real international superstar - GGG. Here in Europe and Asia nobody even cares about Canelo, the few who know him make fun of him and call him a fake mexican.

This isn't about resume .. it's about marketability, something that many posters here seem to be obsessed with, when it comes to Golovkin.

He's clearly not a global marketing star, but he's doing what every fighter should do - unify his division and strive to be no.1.

In your world though Larry, you seem to believe having multiple single titles, or fictitious lineal titles, is more important than being the best, the no.1. You're in the minority. I just find it interesting how the usual pro-Floyd, pro-PBC posters on here tend to be the most critical. I can't say I was expecting some sort of objective analysis though.
what does Floyd of PBC have to do with GGG's terrible ppv sells and **** resume?

Well I tried.. But let's not act as if Sturm and Martinez wanted any part of him and he was going to fight Pirog back in the day and Canelo gave him the run around for a year now. It's not always one sided when fighters can't get fights.
Jacobs is a good start tomorrow, then Saunders, then Canelo hopefully. I'm not sure who could complain if he gets wins over those 3 this year. Undisputed MW champion then maybe Charlo or move up.. His career is not over yet, he can cement a good legacy with a couple years like this one may play out.

It certainly will .. provided he wins it! I'm confident he will do, but this is boxing .. one punch can make a mockery of odds and form.
