In fairness to ggg, comparing ggg vs jacobs to canelo vs chavez jr in terms of drawing power is never going to be favorable. Mexicans are some of the last loyal boxing fans and both canelo and jr have huge followings. Jacobs has almost 0 following and ggg has a following that's indicative of the state of boxing with mainstream sports fans. There just aren't big stars anymore and ppvs are selling like ****. Even pacquiao barely cracked 300k ppvs...some even say as low as 215k, and he has one of the most loyal fanbases in the sport. There are very few fighters who are going to sell out arenas and do good ppv numbers just on the strength of their own name...it's just the way it is now.

Sold tickets were 45k according to ODLH. The rest were given. They were cheap tickets just like in GGG-Lemieux in 2015.
