barrera won but his face was a mess.. maybe the judge thought that the power punches was a much greater deal to score the fight for juarez.. but the volume of punches was in barrera's favor and finishing up rounds was a good thing for any boxer and barrera showed that in the fight

I had Barrera winning 116-112

I had it 115-113 for Barrera but there are at least 2 lousy rounds that can go either way so a draw is just fine.
Rocky was really impresive and MAB seems to be too slow.

a draw is a fair result
I didn't score the fight but when it was over I had the feeling that Barrera won by 1 or 2 points. When the judges scores were read I thought the decision was fair since there were a lot of close rounds. Barrera landed more punches in the fight but Juarez seemed to be landing more effectively, busting up Barrera's face pretty good. The last 3 or 4 rounds Barrera was tiring and clinching inside occasionally to rest for a few seconds. Barrera's jab had been effective for the 1st 7 or 8 rounds but wasn't landing much during the last several rounds, and he was running from Juarez during many of the later rounds. Juarez was economical with his punches but didn't throw enough to dominate the fight. He took Barrera's shots well all night but his attack wasn't varied. It was mostly jabs, left hooks and right hands, with the left hooks being Juarez's best punch.
The fight was close. A draw was reasonable, and when they changed the result to a split decision win for Barrera I didn't feel that Juarez was robbed. Sometimes a fight is so close and well contested that neither man really lost. Barrera showed heart near the end when he was suffering from a broken nose (that's how it looked) and Juarez showed toughness and stamina. Even though Juarez ends with a loss his stature as a fighter should rise anyway.

My scorecard read 106-103 for Barrera. Realistically... I think rounds (forgive me if they're off) 3, 7, 9, 10, and 12 could've been ruled either way or a draw. I'm pretty sure however many times I watch the fight I'd have a different score but I didn't see Juarez winning.
