  • Enough Kovalev-whining

Seriously, it's making me sick now. Kovalev was supposed to KO Ward, destroy the shot black fighter and establish some sense of white dominance in boxing. All he managed to do, though, was to score a flash knockdown.

Seriously, Ward figured Kovalev out and was outboxing for the rest of the fight. He even hurt Kovalev to the point that Kovalev stuck his head out of the ropes to make the referee stop Ward (and don't make some **** up about Kovalev just letting Ward hit him and that he didn't hurt him, lol, like the guys who say Golovkin didn't get hurt when a Brook uppercut gave him jellylegs).

Some saw it differently and for the sake of argument, then let's agree that a case could be made for Kovalev... If Ward had just barely beat Kovalev, while Kovalev got a controversial decision, then no one would defend Ward or whine about him losing. It is extremely obvious.

Ward won that fight. And he knows Kovalev better now. He has him figured out better than last time and if a knockout happens in the rematch, then it's Kovalev who gets knocked out. He will never get close to scoring a knockdown against Ward again and you all know it. Kovalev has never been much of a technician and he can't adept to Ward's skill level.

Will the Kovalev fanboys please just stop whining? And please, please don't start claiming "1-1!" when Ward wins the rematch. If he has to beat Kovalev 3 times, then you're not doing Kovalev any favours at all...

Ward beat Kovalev imo 8-4 (115-112), I can see how people saw it 6-6 (114-113) in favor of Kovalev but really Ward won more rounds, the body attack slowed down Kovalev big time, cause if I remember right Kovalev had no stamina issues against Hopkins or Chilemba, Ward slowed him down perfectly and than timed his shots well

What I saw in Kovalev during the second half of the fight was a Russian guy who had gotten all the air punched out of his lungs. He was starting to feel the pain.

This is even a past it Ward, weakened by ring rust. Imagine how the prime Super Six Ward would have spanked Kovalev beyong embarassment...

We wouldn't have to imagine if Ward wasn't threatening retirement to avoid the contracted rematch

Even if he does, he won the fight. Kovalev lost it. Kovalev should feel grateful if Ward is generous enough to give him the rematch.

They're both 33, but Ward was past it, and Kovalev was in his prime

Ward was supposed to take Kovalev to school. You're supposed to win wide on the scorecards when you give a boxing lesson to someone, not win by 1 point

Ward was favorite to win you idiot. Everybody expects either a KO from Kovalev or a boxing lesson from Ward, but instead it was turned around and Kovalev gave Ward a boxing lesson on how to out box long range.

LMAO, Kovalev was the one who was running all the time and who was covering his head behind the ropes to escape punishment!
