I know thats why Fres is getting his shot, but thats mfing insane lol. Can you imagine a athlete in any other sport suing his way to compete at the Olympics, Superbowl, World Series or whatever event that represents the pinncale of any particular sport. This dumb sh^t only seems to happen in boxing.

This is someone's idea of a sick joke being played on boxing. Two ancient has-been, washed ups who have done not a damn thing to be even rated in the top 25, let alone fighting for a title. April Fools day is 2 weeks away!!

Oquendo won't have fought for 3 years by the time the fight happens, this is so weird, Briggs is 45, Oquendo is 43 fighting for a belt. Have people checked to see if Fres even wants to fight?!

Briggs should take this pretty easily. He is in the gym almost every day, and Fres hasn't fought in three years.

Having this belt would give Shannon the chance to fight the winner of Klitschko vs. Joshua. How the hell he wins that fight I have no idea. He would have to land the luckiest punch in boxing history to capture those titles and upset George Foreman's record.

Briggs and Oquendo are fighting for the WBA world heavyweight championship. Joshua and Klitschko are fighting for the WBA super heavyweight championship.

Last I checked, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Rid**** Bowe, Lennox Lewis, etc. all held the WBA world heavyweight championship.

None of them held the WBA super heavyweight championship.

If the WBC diamond championship is not a world championship, you could easily make the case that the WBA super championship isn't either.

No matter how you slice it, Briggs and Oquendo are fighting for the oldest version of the heavyweight championship of the world. Yes it's ****ed up and thankfully the WBA is finally getting rid of their super championships.

But when the Briggs/Oquendo winner fights the Joshua/Klitschko winner, it is the Briggs/Oquendo championship that will continue to live on forever. The Joshua/Klitschko championship is the one the WBA is getting rid of.

How is this even sanctioned? The WBA should be ashamed of themselves. They're not even elite boxers anymore. Someone gonna get the ABC title. Hopefully, it ends in a draw...

Any way you slice it the whole regular thing is ******. Yes there has been an interim champion when the actually champion is hurt. I don't know how the super champion is not the main man because the regular champion has 20 months to cash in his shot. The super champion was a ****** idea. An interim champion should only be in place if the real champion is hurt & can't make a defence due to injury. This whole regular/super champion was dumb & never should of happened. The regular champion isn't even the #1 mandatory. Ortiz is the WBA #1 so how can briggs/oquendo be the man? Neither is ranked higher than 4 & 5. the winner has to face the WBA #3 ranked Ustinov. The super champion sounds like the #1 champion...
