Jacobs needs to take this fight into the deep waters! He must go to the body early and counter effectively. He must survive the first 7, without taking too much punishment, and put "money in the bank" with body shots! Then from 8-12, he has to go for it! He can't depend on the judges to save him! GGG @ MSG, is not the same as Kovalev in Vegas!
You think this is going to the cards? Why don't you put some money on it as you can get 4-1 online.

Brook has always been a large WW. He was walking around at 175 when he was training for the GGG fight. Brook is a better boxer with more power than some of GGGs no-hoper opponents at 160. Jacob's will bring more power to the fight, but he will need to be able to box his way in to land those punches the way Brook did. I think Brook is a better boxer than Danny but Jacobs has more pop to his punches. Should be a good fight for as long as it goes.

These were some dumb comments. “And when you saw him starting to swell, he started to bleed, that means you’re hurt. If someone hits me and I start bleeding here [points to around his eye], I’m hurt."

Yea it might hurt in the sense that it is painful to get cut. But if you go by that, it hurts anytime you get punched in the face. That is different than getting hurt in boxing. I think Golovkin says he wasn't hurt in the sense that he wasn't shaken up.

Defense....if you don't use it you lose it.
It's the hardest thing to learn on boxing.

It's not something that can be turned on and off like a faucet.

GGG gets hit because he drops his punches to his waist....doesn't cover up well....and pulls-out with his hands BELOW his waist.

That's why he gets hit so much.
Never knew Forbes broke De La Hoyas face... And you are right a MW should and thats what he did. It was a farce fight that ended the way it shouldve with the WW showing some flash but ultimately the size was the di

But again like I said the approach will be different. GGG didnt get hit against Lemeuix that way because I am sure he knew if he went in like he did against Brook it could be lights out. Same thing with Jacobs, he isnt going to go out there like he did against Sergio Mora. Jacobs is a different animal then Lemeuix but again I am sure ggg will tighten his D for Jacobs and I am sure Jacobs will choose his offensive output better.

I anticipate a good fight. I actually think it goes 12.

Personally I think Jacobs should punch around the guard and move in an angle. Trying to go up the middle will leave him to square.

I don't think this is going to the cards, because (as much as I love him) I don't think Jacobs makes it past 7. However, if Jacobs can survive early he should step on the gas, because I don't believe going to the cards will work in his favor! Basically Jacobs is going to have to "beat" the champ!

Good thing for Jacobs it was pillow-fisted Mora who dropped him and not a true MW with serious power like Stevens or Lemieux!!

With the Brook punches you just have to take them on their own merits. He landed some clean shots on GGG with his feet planted and good rotation and GGG's head snapped back - he could hardly have landed a better uppercut on the pads. I am sure that uppercut might have ended some fights at welter. And I am fairly sure GGG himself could only afford to take so many of them even if that shot did not bring him anywhere close to being stopped there will have been a brain sliding around inside that skull. A Hard shot from a sharp puncher. Brook is probably a good puncher at 160 because basically to me it certainly looked like he landed good, hard punches. It is so subjective.

I never bought the GGG let Brook hit him nonsense. Brook is a very good fighter. He'd always banjo GGG with some good punches if the fight went any distance at all.

The punches GGG landed were thudding, heavy booming punches you could hear over Sky commentary while Brook's were just scoring punches that just made Golovkin grin. It was scary.
