  • Comments Thread For: Whyte To Bellew: Stop Talking Rubbish, I'll Knock You Out in Six!

Not long after his stunning stoppage of David Haye, WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs) openly dismissed countryman Dillian Whyte (20-1, 15 KOs) as a potential opponent. Bellew was a huge underdog when he moved up to the heavyweight division to face Haye earlier this month. Haye was controlling the contest until the sixth round, when he suffered a serious Achilles injury. The entire fight changed at that point, and Haye was eventually stopped in the eleventh round.

Some truth to this, Bellew didn't really prove to be a real HW and he isn't, either.

I think Eddies calling him, not the heavyweights. Bellew brings no merit in fighting him.

Bellew is not a real HW but he's already accomplished as much as he can accomplish with his limited skills. I don't think there's anything better he could do and yes, Whyte may KO him, or Bellew may upset him, who knows. Starting from when he got a CW title everything he does is an upset. He's an overachiever. Bellew is like the opposite of Zab Judah in that he's a hothead like Judah but no one believes in him and his skills but he gets the upsets and people still don't believe in his ability as a boxer anyway, while Judah was always getting upset and a lot of people believed in him anyway.

Judah has accomplished more than Bellew ever will.

I don't actually think this is too bad of a fight for Tony, Dillian is a slugger and I feel like Bellew would be able to use his speed advantage to get a points decision, I don't think he gets in a slugging match with Whyte.

Pre fight pressers would be interesting with them too

Judah's best wins are Spinks, Corley, Matthysse, Paris.

Bellew's best wins are Haye, Cleverly, Chilemba, Flores, Makabu, Miranda.

Judah has fought more top opposition but lost 90% of the time (to top level guys).

Tszyu, Baldomir, Spinks, Mayweather, Cotto, Clottey, Khan, Garcia, Malignaggi. His losses to Baldomir and Malignaggi really stick out though.

Tony Bellew is the new cash cow of UK boxing. Everybody wants a piece of that big money "Bomber" action!

Why this Whyte is needed. Let Chisora rematch gives.
