Looking Back, Mayweather Had An Incredible Chin

Going through my career set of Mayweather and one thing I never noticed the first time round is he had an underrated chin: it was incredible. He took some hellacious punches throughout his career and never wobbled, slightly stunned..hardly perceptible unless you pause the video. I used to think it was just his elusiveness and defense, but his chin saved him a lot of times....it was almost superhuman.

Floyd Mayweather took some SINGLE big power shots! but no fighter was able to land consistent power punches upon him! his punch resistance was good nevertheless! He was only really hurt by perfectly delivered power punches....

Only here at the 9 mins 30 second mark approximately, and obviously the Shane Mosley fight where? the only two fights he was really hurt bad within! in other fights, he was deterred slightly by shots but never really hurt...

Its Helps that Mayweather was a very cerebral fighter! I would not actually class Mayweather has a naturally gifted fighter ether, you can tell that he has worked at his craft! (I don't think he is as naturally gifted as Roy Jones Junior, in terms of muscle co-ordination and creativity offensively!)...

Mosley had him on ***** street but yeah I agree Floyd had a very good chin and showed a lot of toughness. When Mosley and Corley hurt him after he recovered he took the fight to them and made them pay. He usually don't get credit for that.

Exactly. He always gets called a coward and a runner but when it came down to it Floyd had some dog in him... it was just rare that someone brought it out in him.

I agree. He was definitely a fundamentally sound fighter, who've mastered the skill of keeping that chin tucked.

When Mosley landed that shot Mayweather immediately grabbed his arm. Almost all fighters immediately go into a high guard when they're stunned like that and allow the other fighter to become aggressive. Mosley almost pulled his shoulder out of socket trying to get his arm loose

It's the main reason why he has never been stopped, knocked out or even suffered a clean knockdown, in his entire 19 year professional boxing career.

It's just amazing that he faced former and current champs but none, obsolutely none of them decked him. Not even iron chin Chaves Sr. was able to accomplish that
