floyd and Ward don't run and I'm not a fan of floyd but against Canelo
      Floyd landed 232 punches
      Lara landed 107 punches

Does that sound like Floyd was just running? There is a difference in moving making your guy miss and making him pay. And just running staying completely out of range from your opponent so you don't get hit but not making him pay either. That's called pointless movement or running. Neither Canelo or Lara landed a lot of punches BECAUSE Lara ran from him. So you got 2 guys who land career low punches because one guy ran and the other had to chase him. When both guys land so few punches but one guy was the one coming forward being aggressive and 88 of the 100 punches he landed were power punches he's going to get more love from judges and fans. If Lara wanted to win he should of stayed in the pocket and engaged like floyd. But he ain't as skilled as floyd and get's hit way more then floyd. He chose not to because if he did he would of been put to sleep by Canelo. Took the coward route and blew up in his face.

Exactly. He felt Canelo's power early on and knew if he traded or stayed in range he was getting dropped. It was one of the most blatant and disgusting examples of running you will ever see. Especially in a championship fight for that many rounds straight. We have seen journey men do this when out gunned against high prospects stinking it up just to not get knocked out. We have seen some top fighters do this for a few rounds at the end of fights to protect a lead. But on a PPV biggest fight of your life I can't think of a guy doing this.

If you fight this style running you had better slap the other guy enough even double him up to justify it and steal a decision. When you run and have career worst punches land sorry you get the L and branded for life as a boring runner and deserve the have fans turn on you.

Overall punch stats were equal but canelo had huge advantage in power punches landed. One guy ran backwards landing a weak jab here and there while the other guy came forward making the fight, more aggressive and landed all the power shots and busted Lara eye. When you fight like this you have no one to blame but yourself led to fans booing you, judges go against you and you branded a boring runner. Even fans who were rooting against canelo said after that fight I will never pay to see Lara fight again. He did it to himself. If he fought like a man even if he gets knocked out his career is in better shape today because fans would want to see him again.
Okay so I just watched the fight again. It was a close split decision IMO. Actually the "unofficial" score cards had Lara ahead at the end of the fight so my recollection wasn't too far off. Clearly Lara's style was difficult for Canelo but he did enough to get the nod from the judges. That said I've never been a big fan of Lara (he's boring) but he does have skills. No denying it. Would I pay to see him fight? Nope.

I thought he's not really a middleweight? Gave away his title rather than fight ggg , yet he'll fight Chavez at this weight???

I think too many are counting Chavez out. Depending on which version of Chavez shows up, this can be a very competitive fight. Canelo has never fought anyone this big, he is typically much larger than his opponent. Chavez can take and give a punch. He took the best of Martinez' punches at middleweight and stopped Andy Lee. Now if the version of himself who fought Fonfara shows up, I expect he will either be stopped inside the distance or quit on his stool again. Either way, it should be a compelling fight for as long as it goes.

Never thought I'd be rooting for chavez jr... Ever! But I hope he takes canelo out, hope he don't cut all that wait as a strategic advantage and sacrifices a couple of mill, he could certainly make it back from future paydays if he beats canelo, its not against the rules and he won't be weakened from the massive cut, war Chavez lol

Yes bro that is what he said and what he did, he dodged GGG no doubt about it. Said his body needed time to grow into 160, dropped to 154 pounds and his very next fight he takes a catch weight 5 pounds over 160, smells like bull$h!t to me too
