I buy that Golovkin hasn't had a chance to go into his full array of skills because of not only level of competition but because if he doesn't make the fight exciting no one will come see him, and that's been true since fighting in the US. He's had to go all out and trade with guys to make exciting fights which is why I don't know if this will be an exciting fight because he respects Jacobs. If Jacobs holds his end, I can see this going the distance because Golovkin will respect him and play the long boxing game. But if Jacobs starts getting ansty and begins throwing too many wild shots leaving himself open, Golovkin will take advantage of that. That and Jacobs's power will determine Golovkin's strategy.

Another thing, it's clear that Golovkin wasn't happy facing Brook by the way he looked at the press conference and his performance level. Once he shook Brook in the first round he just fought recklessly. I don't want to get into what he wanted, what the promotion wanted whatever, but its apparent that they talked to a lot of the middleweights and couldn't come to an agreement. Who is to blame for that, probably both sides, but with Gennady, it wasn't a fight that excited him and I'm sure this one does.

I agree, he looked embarrassed to be fighting brook (as he should've been). But he knows Danny has the power to cause issues, so I expect to see the best version of GGG on Saturday. Barring a good shot or two from Danny early, I think the fight will be over early in favor of GGG. But I'd love if the "miracle man" pulled it off. It'd be great for that division.

On the real, you get a lot of bickering back and forth between the 2 fanbases but as a neutral guy (not a fan of either) I think both know the task at hand.

The is the first opponent since and before facing Lemieux who you could really say has one punch fight ending power, I'm excited it's a step up for GGG and expect him to fight as he fought versus Lemieux, showing him respect working behind and utilising the jab. Clearly he no regard to Brook whatsoever and looked complacent and concerned he may have allowed two rounds to slip on the cards versus the Brit on a Hearn promotion in the backwaters of the UK.

Jacobs doesn't win a round for me, and GGG punishes any and all openings ultimately leading to a stoppage. I expect around the 4th-5th. I'm a fan of boxing skills themselves as opposed to huge kos and GGG has displayed solid fundamentals along the way, the cutting off of the ring and marshalling around the ring leaves me in awe, those years in the unpaid ranks he's really crafted a style and finessed a skill set vastly superior to anyone at the weight. The guy is so multi dimesional it makes me laugh how much he is disliked, I'll attribute it to his fan base, who lets be honest are cringeworthy.

Yea I remember him looking bored at that last conference and the day of the weigh in he looked annoyed and left early. That's when people started the rumors that he was sick. And Abel didn't really help explain why he was acting so weird.

Regardless of who wins this fight the proper credit will not be given. If Jacobs wins they'll say GGG was a hype job all along and if GGG wins they'll call Jacob's a bum and start dissecting his whole career. Sad the way "fans" are.

Both guys are legit probably 1&2 of the mw division. One will win & one will lose but whoever ends up on the losing end deserves their respect.

This is going to be a hell of a fight. Jacobs punching power combined with his skills is a handful for anybody. I still cant believe some people think GGG is just going to walk all over Jacobs.

GGG will have to box, he cant just overpower and intimidate Jacobs like he does to most opponents. This is why i know it will be close because Jacobs can box aswell.

This will be a very technical fight early and if Jacobs gets the upperhand then GGG will make it a brawl. I still favor GGG but a Jacobs has a shot.

^ This post was spot on. Boxing fans are never, ever satisfied and always have something to nit pick about any fighter who's not their favorite at the moment.
