GGG should not put his June plans on hold for Canelo. They messed him around plenty of times. In fact the way things are going GGG should have 2-3 fighters lined up for June. Have Lemiex and Heiland as backup for Saunders.

Add Eubank and N'Dam to that list. I'm over Canelo/GGG since he dropped the belt. Canelo hasn't done anything at 160, so what's the point of getting all excited?

Smith fight is not comparable that wasn't a big event. Chavez fight is more comparable and that fight was agreed and announced in mid jan for a fight in may. It's beyond foolish for GGG to sign another fight when he already has a bigger fight on the table worth 15m. What if he suffers a injury? Canelo is the A side he is not going to let GGG effect his Sept date. And we have already seen how inept GGG camp is negotiating. He squabbled for how many months with Jacobs and missed his HBO December date because it. You want canelo the A side to wait around for you in june then risk having this idiot dyck around asking for more money or whatever other nonsense and then having a short turn around for Sept or miss the date all together.

Anyone blaming canelo for GGG inactivity is an idiot. He on a long layoff not because of canelo your promoter screwed around with jacobs. Both fought in sept they had talks before jacobs even fought mora it was a fight everyone assumed would be wrapped up and signed immedately after the mora fight. HBO gave them the dec date. Then what happed? The joke show K2 phuked around with jacobs and month after month it dragged pushing the fight from dec to march. Now you want canelo to wait till June and risk a similar dragging of the feet from the promoters who have proven they either can't make a big fight or miss fight dates because they don't know what they doing?

If you wanted 2 fights before canelo like you said last year then should of not nickle and dimed jacobs made your dec date then would of fought a 2nd fight in april as planned to go into sept after that. You screwed that up now you wait till may when canelo fight is over and sign the contract you got the fight in sept. Who prioritizes a regular HBO 2m fight over the biggest fight over your career with 15m? Idiots I tell you at K2. If you worried about canelo fight falling apart Saunders will always be there as a backup plan. At worst you fight Saunders in July/aug if an agreement can't get made with canelo. There is no reason that fight has to be in june you ain't the A side with canelo and he will just say OK you signed another fight so I'm giving someone else that sept date and you have no one to blame but your self.

Canelo's own promoters - Dela Hoya & Hopkins fought separate fights in June '04, that lead to their big fight in September '04. Nobody knew who Felix Sturm with his WBO title or who Robert Allen were.


And with Canelo fighting in May, that mean there's a month's difference between Canelo/Chavez & Golovkin/Saunders, they're not missing out. They probably wouldn't even start promoting Golovkin/Alvarez til 2-3 weeks after Canelo/Chavez, which means they'd only miss 1-2 weeks of this promoting.

oscar-hopkins wasnt a big fight, neither sold more than 1 million, cotto-canelo was a big fight with a lack of promotion from roc nation and the wrong date and didnt crack 1 million, canelo-chavez has been promoted the right way so ti was floyd-canelo, lots of tv shows, city tours, etc... and if you say the promotion starts 2-3 weeks after the chavez fight imagine if they wait to start 2-3 weeks after the jacobs fight... that will be like 4-5 weeks waisted... ggg needs to be available and closing the deal as soon as the canelo-chavez is over or else no one is going to wait for him and cotto is going to end up getting that fight, ggg gets pushed back to may 2018 and that will only benefit canelo, why risk for that??

Chavez hasn't fought in 5 months. After his last fight his camp said they wanted to go right directly into another fight. Would of fought early 2016 but didn't because he wanted the big fight with canelo. Had he not played his B side role and said I know canelo you offering me this fight in may and all this money on the table now but let me grab another fight in feb before that and you wait around is that cool? Canelo would of said phuk you and gave may date to someone else. He did it because he the B side and a canelo fight is worth too much money to dyck around. GGG has 15m in table just wait 1 month after your fight and iron out the details with canelo for sept.

If Golovkin looks vulnerable against Saunders, it'd probably make the Canelo fight even bigger. It would be viewed as more even fight.


They did have a problem waiting on Jacobs, that's why they're saying they're not waiting on people anymore. Golovkin's upset he only fought 2x last year b/c of Jacobs & Canelo. He waited on Canelo negotiations during the 1st quarter of the year costing him a fight.


I can't understand why fans would be opposed to Golovkin fighting in June and again in September. He has no history of injuries, and BJS isn't expected to beat him. Yeah there's always a risk of injury, but that happens just as often in training. Canelo had his Clottey fight canceled from training injury.

And even if he doesn't fight in June he'll still be in line to fight 3x's.

They'd be opposed because it would be putting the fight in jeopardy. All this under the assumption the fight is finalized. Injury, cuts, a loss, all for a fight their target audience doesn't care about. The Saunders fight is irrelevant to the people buying PPV's.
