NEW YORK It was difficult for Daniel Jacobs to watch Curtis Stevens suffer a brutal knockout defeat to David Lemieux on Saturday night. I was more concerned with Stevens mother. Watching her really hurts the heart to see a mother go through what she did witnessing something happen to her son that she has never had to see before. I'm relived that Curtis is okay and that his family is not suffering from a greater tragedy had things turned out much worse. I can see how Jacobs felt seeing his friend go through that. We are not savages here, at least I would hope there isnt anyone that is so evil that they would want this or worse things than this to happen to a boxer.
