    This thread is hilarious.
Everyone claims to know which fighters punch the hardest.

Golovkin, Lemieux, Jacobs, Quillin, Andy Lee, Curtis Stevens...they can all crack hard. The difference between their punching power probably isn't all that drastic.

      they will stop the fight

maybe not, but their ability to land that punch on a good opponent, is

Golovkin, and to a lesser extent Jacobs, are much better

also, its the one you don't see coming that hurts

speed/timing/technique all have a big part to play in that, so does accuracy..... but a lot of observers would put the effectiveness of that punch down to power

Lemieux may be a harder puncher, but Jacobs is a better puncher

Jacobs will give a good fighter more problems than Lemieux will

He might have more power. But when they faced each other GGG showed he is the better skilled fighter all around so its really irrelevant. GGG beat his ass.

Maybe with one punch. Lemieux definitely can put guys to sleep in a way that GGG generally doesn't.

But whats terrifying about GGG is that even his light setup shots are hard and get your attention.

I don't think we have ever really seen GGG sell out on a shot the way David does either, so who knows. If GGG was selling out on every shot maybe he would be sleeping people.

Pretty much everything you said I agree with. Speed, timing technique, ability to land that big punch accurately, etc.

Lemieux may be a harder puncher but I don't think we can assume that he is just because he KO'd Stevens. Sure it was a brutal one punch KO but if Jacobs or any of the heavy hitters at middleweight had connected on Curtis with their full power I think we would be looking at a similar result. Stevens seemed to be able to take a good punch for sure but anyone can get KO'd if a good puncher connects to the perfect spot.

On the other hand you might be right...Maybe Lemieux is a harder hitter but Danny Jacobs is a better/ more accurate puncher.

Another common hypothesis is that Rangy guys with hand speed like Jacobs can typically generate more power than guys with shorter arms if they throw their punches from the proper distance to land those shots. Teddy Atlas would always ramble on about that. He attributed Tommy Hearns power in part to his length. But there seems to be quite a few shorter fighters who have good power also, so who knows.

                      Jacobs stops him as well

                      Saunders beats Lemieux handily

Lemieux/Lee is 50/50..... I favor Lee to land betsy first
Canelo wouldn`t risk and fight lemeux.
