This dude is trippin...I don't like 666 but I won't lie, the boy got pop. Lemieux just K.O.'d a dude that don't belong in that weight class. Stevens is too small.

All that proves is that Golovkin takes a better punch, which we can all agree on. But my God that was an awful rebuttal or an attempt at one.

Personally I still think Golovkin hits harder because he doesn't wind up his punches like Lemieux does and in reference to the Stevens KO, Stevens was bold enough to trade hooks with David and get caught wide open. He didn't afford Golovkin the same luxury.
The bolded nails it. I still think its debateable who has more raw power, but David certainly tries much harder to generate the power he does while GGG looks effortless in generating his power.

Maybe but even if that was true GGG would still overpower him any day.

I don't know how to explain it. Better technique, toughness, confidence to step into his shots when he needs to?

He has more power than GGG but Gennady's defense is better, something David needs to work on more. GGG is physically very strong and he is accurate. However, based on David's physical appearance, which leaves much to be desired, his KO ratio and power proves that he has natural power, similar to Kovalev's

Lemieux is just selling his brand with these comments. He's riding high off a good KO over a game gatekeeper. Doesn't really matter who has the harder punch, we all know GGG beat both of these guys up mercilessly. DL feels vindicated with the KO after all the trash talk between them. GGG simply wanted to punish Stevens and DL and punish them he did. Both into submission. How humiliating that must feel. Stevens got off light by being ko'd because after the first round, it was looking like it would be a long night for him.

Theoretically, if both hit a heavy bag that measured pressure per sq. inch, I would bet that GGG applies more pressure.

However, speed plus timing and explosiveness mean a lot in boxing and I feel like Lemieux is faster and more explosive.

He might have more KO power than GGG. Maybe faster too. Lacking everything else though.

The replies from some of these GGG fanboys are Grade A ******. Seriously...

In my opinion, David does have more explosive power. GGG on the other hand has thudding power, it breaks and wears you down as the fight goes on. David's method of fighting and natural born power is more dynamic, thus allowing him to one shot his opponents.

Both have solid chins but Golovkin's ability to box well was what kept him safe from David's raw power. Something Stevens fell victim to because of his inability to keep David at bay. Meanwhile GGG broke David down due to his inability to keep GGG off of him. It doesn't necessarily mean David has a weak chin or he hits weaker than Golovkin, it just means that GGG is smarter and opted not to get into a fire fight with a hooking monster and was able to set him up and wear him down.

When they fought, who was shook????? GGG didnt seem bothered with Lemieux power. But on the other side, GGG had lemiuex doing the stanky leg
So true. Golovkin pulverized Lemieux. Beat him to a pulp and if anyone thinks any different, especially Lemieux, they are delusional. I find it very amusing that after guys fight Golovkin and literally have their ass handed to them, they start posturing. When Golovkin as you said destroyed Lemieux he was labeled a bum by the G haters. Now since he knocked out Stevens he thinks he has more power. It's laughable. Take your win David stay humble and act like a professional.

                      Lemieux vs GGG

I also believe that Lemieux possesses more explosive power than GGG. That being said, one does NOT simply win a boxing match by power alone. Lemieux lost to GGG because Golovkin is a smarter, better technical fighter. If Lemieux ever face GGG again, he would have to completely change his strategic approach in fighting GGG. He would NOT win a pure boxing contest against GGG but he COULD win a slugfest. Consequently, if he is capable of slugging it out with Golovkin, he cold potentially nail him since GGG is very hittable. He cannot allow GGG to dictate the pace of the fight with his jab like he did the first time. Lemieux must have a better timing in charging him. By the way, Lemieux would beat Canelo or Saunders.
