You might have similar power, but Golovkin has 2x the skill.

As Breadman Stevens once said, when two equally strong punchers meet, the one with the stronger chin is the harder puncher.

So in theory Lemieux can both punch harder than Golovkin and not be able to make a dent in GGG. No conflict there.

Of course, it's scary to think that the punch that laid out Stevens would not bother Golovkin...

When they fought, who was shook????? GGG didnt seem bothered with Lemieux power. But on the other side, GGG had lemiuex doing the stanky leg
So him not being able to hurt Golovkin proves he has less power than Golovkin? Makes total sense. Or maybe just means Golovkin is a better fighter all around?

It was an really impressive short hook. Lemieux needs to keep active and gain some more skills so he can actually land that power against Golovkin, but he's young and can definitely improve.

Honestly, Lemieux probably just ensured that Canelo doesn't get in the ring with him. On the other hand, Stevens might, lol.

I never realised that being able to get a higher score on a fairground punch machine made you a better fighter. Especially when the person has already blown you out of the ring.

David has power.. punch for punch more than golovkin but he got schooled because he's one dimensional. His power means **** all when ggg nullifies it with the jab and lemieux does nothing to counter it

Same weight, you hit me Nothing happens, I hit you you go down. Who has more power? Nothing to do with being better. GGG has more power. Period.

He has probably more punching power but that still doesn't mean anything when GGG is by far the better boxer. GGG completely neutralized Lemieux's offense.

He obviously hits harder. Stevens hits noticeably harder than GGG too. Quillin when he comes back will be. You can tell when a fighter punches hard by how easily they hurt the other guy. Quillin hurts everyone he fights with non power shots and he does it easily.

GGG doesn't have power like that, he is just strong. If he were to move up he wouldn't be as standout when it comes to power because he's going to be in with other strong guys. He has canelo type power, it's not explosive it comes from their size.

Simplest way I can explain it is Margarito and Manny Pacquiao. Margarito is physically much stronger than Manny just from the size of him alone. But Manny hits much harder even though he's not as big or strong. His punches carry more power.
