I've always thought this would be a good somewhat even match up. Canelo without a doubt is more skilled than Lemieux in the traditional sense, but Lemieux has always had exceptional power for a MW. Lemieux would have a decent height advantage and a slight weight advantage that I think makes him a real threat for Canelo.

      it's mythical.
did enough to tame their ass. Doesnt have to hurt them just have to keep them in check. Mayweather made a career out of it.

a well placed punche is 1000x better than a hard punch.

WTF is Lemule? Sounds like another bum.

If you have a house, let's make a bet. I'll gladly send you with Freddy Roach - on skid row.

          I did?

Look man, I wasn't trying to insult you, I just said how I see it..

The ko tonight was impressive, but Canelo isn't Stevens. He's a pretty smart fighter with a high ring iq, my guess is he'd fought Lemieux the way he fought Angulo... He wouldn't wait for him to tire out, he'd came at him from the opening bell.. He's faster than Lemieux and has a much better combos.. Can fight on the inside too and has probably the best defence out of all the top middleweights...He'll ko Lemieux.

I tend to agree with this, it will be fun to watch in the beginning and Lemule has a chance to land a bomb but he is outclassed outside of that. I think Canelo will weather the storm and get him late but most likely because David will be exhausted and body broke. Id like to see it but not before Canelo fights Golovkin.

mayweather has footspeed. even he didn't do too well against swarmers.

he ducked margarito remember? arguably lost to maidana and castillo.

the fact is Canelo is like mayweather but only slower without any of the agility. Canelo actually reminds me of Broner more than anyone else. Once he loses the size advantage he's nothing special.

A swarmer with power is his worst match-up.

you can't compare angulo to lemieux. not as powerful. not as big. and not as quick. not as good of a chin. angulo was also shopworn.

however Canelo is a lot like Broner. he tries to emulate floyd but he doesn't have the footspeed. HOWEVER all 3 of those fighters do not do well against swarmers with power and good chins.

And you can't compare Canelo to Stevens which is what you're doing right now.

Again, the KO was impressive but it was Curtis Stevens he stopped...

Broner emulates Floyd because of the whole 'imma take over boxing once the big bro retires' bs thing he used to have going on... The only fight he (Canelo) lost so far was to a guy who's a better boxer than him. And, as much as Iike him, Lemieux isn't that.

This is why (to me) Golovkin is the favourite against Canelo: he has the skills to outbox him... Power will help too but won't be a deciding factor.
