Boxing would be better with half the divisions it currently has & probably 75% less of the 135lbs & less divisions that make up 9 of the current 17 divisions which is f#cking ******ed. 105, 108, 112, 115, 118, 122, 126, 130 & 135. Few sports fans & probably even most boxing fans respect grown men who weigh less than their healthy weight teenage daughter.
And don't get me wrong there are some super talented guys in those divisions, but there tend to be fewer fighters thus its like womans boxing with a lack of depth to make them interesting very often.
Anyway trim those 9 divisions down to 135 & 126 for sure & then keep 118, 115 or 112 & that would be a great start to making boxing more competitive & getting those lower weight guys more interest with more fans.Comment

What you are saying makes no sense at all.!54 is a wonderful weight class. 147 and 160 are both wonderful weight classes. No changes need to be made. Leave these weight classes as they are and leave them alone. Worry about some problem that needs fixing. The 154 pound weight class is fine the way it is and has been for the last 55 years.Comment

This is the Caneloweight dimension. There is only a 155lb division here & thats all there has ever been. What is this 154lb division of which you speak? Seems silly to make a weight division only 1 lb beneath Caneloweight.Comment

I only originally read the title....
I understand what is going on within the thread now.
"They should leave the 154 division as it is!"....Comment

let's have no weight classes, everyone fights at HW
Chavez can eat as many burritos as he wants, there's no gain to cutting down
GGG can pack on 40 pounds or not be able to compete, etc.
we'll see how good Floyd is fighting Tyson Fury, lolComment
