I think this absolutely works in certain divisions, especially at the lower weights where fighters are lesser known and purses are smaller.

It can also work in a higher weight division loaded with talent but often overlooked.

In fairness this has only been done three times with top guys that I can recall (the Ali exile tournament at HW that Ernie Terrell won, the HBO HW tournament that Mike Tyson won & the Super Six that Andre Ward won, anyone correct me if I'm missing anything recently or even in the distant past with 6+ tip top elite fighters involved) & never on an ongoing basis like this is being setup as.

This is a historical moment in boxing potentially if they can get elite caliber guys fighting each other year in & year out in multiple divisions. This is a potential game changer for boxing if they can make it a success.

lol, naw man I hope the best for it actually as a fight fan. I hope that $ entices some big names but for some reason I read this 100 million dollar thread with the same grain of salt I read pacquiaos multi million dollar UAE deal.

If it happens great, I just think 100m can be used for better promotion & bigger fights. Its great that we have boxing on regular t.v. but these guys are leaving with the same amount of fans they had walking into the ring. In order for these boxers to become stars, things outside of boxing is how you do it. Things like dancing with the stars, t.v. commercials, guest appearances on WWE, celebrity dates etc is the way to put boxing on the map. You get the women watching and boxers will be household names.

The only other tourney's I can remember are the 4-man ones:

Showtime Bantamweight Tourney that Mares won.
Middleweight Tourney that Hopkins won

So looking forward to this one!
