If Canelo is the biggest draw in the sport...

And this is the biggest fight they can make, why does it have to be on a national holiday?
Besides seeing him get crushed by GGG could put a dampner on celebrations.

National Holiday as in American or Mexican?

Golovkin is old. Easy work for Nelo. Alvarez is younger than all the Welterweight stars now. Lara II , Charlos, Andrade, Spence, Ramirez, Chavez jr., Eubank Jr., Saunders...all mega fights for Alvarez in the future.

Maybe they should have on a Monday when no one can watch.

The biggest fighters fight on the biggest dates, lesser fighters won't challenge them either as their own ratings would suffer hugely if they tried fighting on the same date as a big drawcard. I'm not sure when the Mexican holidays became the biggest dates in American boxing but these are the dates Floyd Mayweather established as days for big boxing bouts, at least in terms of PPV numbers.

The name of the game is to come up with an excuse to duck ggg. If ggg wasn't fighting saunders gomez would have came out and said only way canelo fights ggg is he fights saunders first so it can be a unificaition. They'll make whatever **** they have to so the fight dosen't happen.

You have to squeeze every last dollar out of an event, it makes sense....boxing is all about bums in seats.

Yea, ^this is the glaringly obvious answer. Why would they make it harder on themselves? It's the same reason concerts don't happen at 8am.
