Anybody trying to spin this into a negative is just plain dumb. The people who tuned in likeky weren't casuals, they were generally boxing fans based on my experience. Not one casual fan in my circle of friends (which includes die hard Floyd, Manny, Canelo and Khan fans) watched or has even commented on this fight. There's a lot of room for growth. These numbers are great, and will slowly climb at the rate PBC and CBS are going.Last edited by Butch.McRae; 03-08-2017, 04:52 PM.

PPV fights in the 90s and early 2000s was saved for MUST SEE fights for the most part. Too often nowadays that isn't the case.
What's the solution? More competitive fights earlier in fighters career, build the name and interest, not just a padded 25-0 record. By the time they get to 25-0 they need to be a well known name, on the way to being a household name.

Boxing fans always assume the worst. I was in the arena and there were periods in a couple of rounds when some people were booing, but they were Danny Garcia fans who were booing Thurman. The fight wasn't Gatti-Ward, but it wasn't so boring it will chase fans away.
Packed electric arena...monster KO in the opening fight...good (though admittedly not great) fight...entertaining action...right result in terms of judging. Biggest primetime audience in nearly 20 years.
A solid win for boxing.
