Really? What if your statement was "McGregor would become a legend to MMA fans if he landed a roundkick, or chocked Floyd out - illegal or not."
I don't know if you can see the point I am making... When Will Smith was on the set and they were doing the Ali movie James Toney was mentioned and then actually asked to play Frazier. I was told that at one point Smith had said he was afraid that Toney would hurt him.
Toney allegedly went to Smith and said "I would never do that" he gave his word, got the part and as far as I know never injured Will Smith. A contract is like a man's word to another. If McGregor did something like that I doubt he would have any credability, nor would he deserve any. MMA fans might say, when McGregor was trounced in the ring by Floyd, "He kept his cool and took his whipping and millions like a man, and that would be a compliment...much like Toney, gave his word and showed his restraint.
But an elbow, a knee, or otherwise would be the move of a coward and I doubt any fans would support such nonsense.
