Nobody excites the general public unless you're talking about the Mexican Americans shelling out their cash because they idolize someone of their own nationality. 2 of the best 5 p4p guys fought in November and it did no more than GGG vs a nobody in Lemeiux. Even Garcia-Thurman, a huge fight didn't do great ratings considering like 90 million people have cbs over free television. Boxing is not growing at all, it's only losing fans consistently

Canelo's 'flops' sell anywhere from 3x to 6x more than Golovkin's biggest fights.

Golovkin is about to take part in a low seller while Canelo takes part in a huge seller, only further widening the already large gap between them. Yet, it's Canelo that needs him?

Better than being handed the title outside of the ring. Lets not forget all those other title holders he beat, the most of any fighter in history i believe. Golovkin has 1.

I'm happy that Golovkin is stepping up in competition. He usually gives the fans a entertaining fight and Jacobs has dynamite in those hands so bring it on.

Thurman-Garcia performed very well, but free fights are difficult to compare.

Currently in the US, Canelo is about the only guy that will consistently draw huge crowds and sell PPV's against anyone. Yet Golovkin's team have all been quoted saying 50/50 several times. $15million is already too much.

I thought GGG was good at at least putting butts in seats.

Why do you "fans" care so much about PPV sales anyway?

Do you care about the sport at all? All I want is to see the best fighters fighting eachother. I dont care how much they make or what the split is and neither should you if you arent getting any of that money.

It is obvious to everyone that Canelo is ducking GGG. I am a big Canelo fan and I see it clear as day. Only people who don't see it are some mexicans & the people who hate Kovalev, Lomachenko, GGG etc. for no reason.

As a fan I'd rather watch the fight at home. Unless you have a ring side seat every boxing event I've been to hasn't been the greatest view, crowds etc. The days of small screen TVs are over. Huge flat screens with replays, close up shots and slow motion coverage are better than seeing it live unless as I said you're ringside.

This should never have been on PPV in the first place. Could have probably drawn near 2m viewers on regular HBO, yet instead only a fraction of that will get to view it live
