You are right when you describe those wins when comparing Cotto to the ATG fighters. Keep in mind those wins are bigger than 98% of Marquez wins. All would agreee that Marquez gets KO'd badly by Mosely at Lightweight or Welterweight even with all the acne on his back.

Juan Manuel Marquez due too his performances up against Manny Pacquiao! (Even though Miguel Cotto is my favorite fighter out of the two, and head to head? he probably beats Marquez!)....

Cotto's always been one of my favs but Marquez has overall the better wins. Having beat Barrera and KO'd Pacquiao I think is enough alone, but he's had plenty of solid wins against young in their prime opposition (Juan Diaz, Rocky Juarez). He beat Casamayor, Katsidis.

I mean Cottos' best win is probably Mosley and it was close. Martinez was already far out of his prime, and then he's come up short against all other big named opponents.

Marquez for me. Cotto was great though too.

And I discount the Cotto-PAC fight as Cotto was way weight drained.

And why not compare their fights against PBF?

I think they're fairly close in most aspect except Fighter and Fight of The Year. Juan's won those I'm pretty sure, and I don't remember Cotto ever getting either award.

Martinez and Margarito have better resumes than all 3 of those fighters combined. Cotto beat Mosely when he still had some left in the tank, and fighters with the skill level of Katsidis or Diaz would never even be considered as opponents for Cotto. Those fighters have never been at the PPV level of talent or notariety. Katsidis and Diaz are 2 of the better fighters on Marquez's resume. Most fans are still asking" who the h#ll is Chris John???
