These are not things that C+ level fighters do.

Yes, he had had C+ level physical skills, but A+ heart and A+ intelligence.
Remember who he beat for the titles? A washed up N'Dou who was the absolute weakest 140lbs champ at the time and he beat Senchenko(who?) for the 147lbs title was the weakest at the time also and prolly the weakest 147lbs champ in history. How bad do you have to be to let a smaller guy with ZERO power beat you and stop you for the 147lbs title. WTF

Malignaggi was a C+ fighter at best but he did get a lot out of his major short comings, which is an accomplishment in itself.

The 2 best things he had going for him was his mouth and speed other than that he was average nothing more I'd like to see him really be off TV ...

Yep. Good points. He was beatable and marketable so he was a perfect tuneup and provided good visibility for the better fighters. He did trash talk his way into high profile fights and got a lot farther with his limited ability than better fighters did. As a reward, he took his beatings and got well paid. Unfortunately, TV is all about entertainment and only secondarily about boxing. Pauli is an entertainer. Better but inarticulate boxers got shoved aside. As my old man would say, "that guy was a talker."

I always thought that Paulie was a very skilled fighter, who unfortunately had bad hands. Imagine being a fighter who can't punch, because it kills your hands! Still, he was able to make his mark in the sport. His love for & knoweldge of boxing should bode well for him during his commentator career.

yes it is ho hum since hatton had been retired for 3 and a half years, was coming off a devastating ko loss, and fighting at 147 where he always looked terrible.

Props to Paulie and what he did in boxing. Now if he could just put a muffler on his mouth...

Give the man his credit. And if you haven't heard his podcast, I recommend you check it out.
