whys everyone crapping on thurman and garcia for?

seems to be an awful lot of posts and threads moaning about these two and i dont get why.

From what i watched it was a decent enough fight to me and they should be getting the credit for getting in the ring with each other and trying to prove who the best is. Isnt this what you all wanted, the best fighting the best?

I swear spence got more credit for blasting out bundu than thurmans got for beating garcia, and you wonder why boxers are reluctant to fight top opposition? Cause theyve gone and done it and all youve done is moan.

When the best fight the best often they arent going to look as good as they do when they blast out some overmatched bum. Because obviously its harder to land your shots and theres more coming back from the other side

I thought thurman put in a pretty solid performance, he did what matthysse and khan couldnt do, i thought he boxed really well.

And finally people moaning that this batch of welterweights arent as good as pacquiao and mayweather, well so what? They were two absolutelutely phenomenal fighters that we were lucky enough to have fighting in the same era, if we are are gonna judge all welterweights by that standard then i think you are all going to be disappointed over the next few years.

Ok his running in the final stanza of the fight was completely strategic. So amazing.

I never said he should have played into Garcia's strengths... which are trading with him and punching in combinations in order to give Garcia the opportunity to counter.. but Garcia's offense was damn near non existent for most of the fight. I'm sure Thurman could have exploited that a lot more.

I'm quite sour about how little credit Thurman is getting, he just beat an undefeated, borderline P4P fighter without much trouble to unify the belts and people are staying ******ed **** like 'he ran for the last 2 rounds doe'...I mean wtf? This new generation of fans who refer to movement as running are completely out of touch with reality, some of the best fighters in history were movers, it's an underappreciated art.

I don't understand the double-standards, why is it okay for some fighters to move but when others do it, it's called running? **** doesn't make sense to me. Thurman connected with the cleaner, sharper, harder shots is nearly every round, he threw and landed more, even in the rounds he used his legs.

We saw two undefeated champs in their prime unifying and people still find ways to complain. it wasnt a barnburner, but both fighters showed some skills and each had good moments in this competitive fight. both deserve props for doing something that most fighters just dont do these days.

Being stationary gives Garcia an opportunity to land, why take that chance when you've won nearly every round? The fighter's job is to win fights, he's gotten this far by working hard and listening to his trainers, not listening to internet warriors on boxingscene saying 'do this, do that!'.

Fans want action and that is understandable.

But if you are solely a fan of high action fights, you should be able to look at the style matchup beforehand and know whether the fight will be one of interest to you.
