GGG could have won convincingly if he hit the body and capitalized on the punches he landed instead of backing off and waiting for a one-shot KO. He overestimated his ability to finish an opponent who came in looking like a cruiserweight.

Jacobs could have won if he kept some emotional composure but every time he was ahead in a round he seemed to devolve into taunting and throwing windmills to GGG's elbow. This got noise from the crowd but it does nothing to the scores.

Terrible decision and terrible fans for backing the foreigner instead of the hometown kid.

Can Jacobs get a fair decision?

        Nope......

With boxing it's not about what's fair and what's not. The judges scorecards are for show and will go in favor of whoever they liked better.

What's most important, is whether you did enough to position yourself for another payday to continue making money in this business. If that's, a yes, then you should walk away happy.

HBO can't let GGG lose until he fights Canelo

That was pretty rough. There are close fights, and then there are fights where the "name" is expected to win so people favor him because they're scared of making an unpopular decision.

And this is why open scoring is needed.

and there are fights where the underdog who is suppposed to be destroyed does better than expected. that doesnt mean he won. jacobs didnt clearly win a round till the 6th so you cant complain about a robbery. first round he got jabbed to death and people still gave it to himm. i knew there would be a bunch of salty fanboys after seeing that.

As a Ward fan I admitted he lost. Will little GB fans admit the same?
