was it strategy? was it the body shots? idk but he shouldn't do that again. close the show strong.
Pff come on... I wanted Danny to win but no way he won this. Even rounds where it seemed like Thurman was giving them away, he was landing more clear.

Now he is fighting bigger opponents and he's going to lose against all of them.
You keep using the word basic and you are trying to support it by referencing fighters that he has fought and that doesn't support your argument. You are saying that he is basic with the skills that he brings in the ring and I beg to differ. His skill level is way above basic. Let me ask you a question, in what context are you using the word basic? The only way it can be applied in a boxing situation is to imply that a fighters skills are at the elementary level and that's just not true in Danny's case. He applies various punch selections and strategies to beat his opponents and there's nothing basic about that.

I agree with that. He should have closed the show like a champion is supposed to. I think his corner was too cautious and cost him some fan appeal which translates to money. They were more scared for him than he was for himself. He had broke Danny's spirit and he was ripe for the picking. If nothing else, he should have turned it up full blast in that last round.

Since when does basic meaning elementary skills?

A basic fighter (at world level) is a guy that isn't great at anything, he just has a couple of strengths that allows him to win fights; Garcia had that at 140 with his size and power.

At 147 those no longer exist and you will see it in his results; he is going to lose to every good fighter at 147. He's not skilled enough to outbox them, he's not fast enough to hit and move, his footwork is too slow to close distance...He's basic.

lol, Okay, so you saying that he is a basic world level fighter. That don't relate what so ever. Yeah he has a couple of strengths IE, his chin and his power but he also has real boxing skills as he showed it against Lucas and they are not basic. He did ok against Thurman but Thurman is just a better fighter. True, I don't think that he would beat Spence or Brook but his odds are not bad against anyone else. Danny has skills but his biggest flaw is that he is reactive instead of proactive. You are stuck on the word basic and trying to make it fit but it don't. I know what you mean but it ain't basic because I know what the word basic means too.

I'm one of the bigger Danny fans on NSB so I am disappointed with how he fought.

Thurman won and would've won by more had he not essentially gave away the last 2 rounds.

Danny got behind and imo needed a ko to win after the 9th. Credit to Thurman for boxing and moving and protecting his lead.

Hope Danny can get a fight with Bradley to get himself back near the top and get another title shot.

I think the winner of Porter-Berto would be the best chance for him to get back in the mix.
