Comments Thread For: Official Weights: Danny Garcia 146 ; Keith Thurman 146

The weigh-in for the Danny Garcia-Keith Thurman fight was as drama-free Friday afternoon as their final press conference Thursday in Manhattan. Garcia, the WBC world welterweight champion, and Thurman, the WBA world welterweight champion, both made weight for their 147-pound title unification fight Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

I give major props to both fighters and tip my hat to Danny Garcia in particular for giving us boxing fans a fight we want to see. At the end of the day however, this fight is coming down to the fighter who wants it the most and in this case I am going to have to go with "One time" Keith Thurman.

Danny Garcia has been there and done that; As a matter of fact, he already has it. On the other hand though, Keith Thurman doesn't and that's why he wants it a lot more than Garcia does because he has something to prove.

Not only is he the more scientific boxer and bigger puncher of the two, but he is the hungrier fighter of the two as well and it will show come Saturday night.

Lastly Danny Garcia's lack of power is going to hurt hm in this fight. If he can't hurt Keith then he doesn't stand a chance of winning. I don't believe that he possesses enough punching power to seriously threaten Keith Thurman in this fight as he is naturally the smaller man. Moreover I can't recall a single instance, where Garcia hurt or stopped an opponent with punches to the body.

Huge fight. Ever wonder how huge Golovkin vs Canelo would be not only in America but the rest of the world?

RUNMAN is gonna run for the hills, I am rooting for Garcia just because of that. Danny will come to fight like a man.

Should be an exciting fight. Both fighters are world class and the real deal. I'm rooting for Thurman in this one because I can't stand Garcia's father's rants.

Thurman looks in the best shape I've seen him in since the Diaz fight.

WAR KEITH!! A win tomorrow night makes him the #1 welter and a top 10 P4P fighter in my book, likewise for Danny

I agree. It's a shame really because Garcia has been a good champion but his dad is a tool.
