Yup and the ticket prices ain't even comparable LMAO
Canelo going to do a live gate higher then his fight with Cotto which drew 12m. GGG fight with Jacobs ain't even sold out and will likely do around the 2m live gate that his only other HBOPPV did against Lemieux. It's ridiculous to think GGG deserves anywhere near the same split as Canelo. He better take that 15m offer now before the numbers come in from both their fights. Because this will do at minimum 4X more PPVs then GGG's.

yep, this is going to be a big event, canelo-khan didnt sold out cuz it was a mismatch and still managed to get 600k ppvs, this one is going to crack a million.... people dont realize that despite both being mexicans they have different fan bases, like 90% of canelo fans dont like chavez and the same story on the other side...
this fight will generate more money to canelo than a ggg fight will, and people still think he cant generate huge paydays without ggg...

Boxing actually needs a major event badly. This should be the biggest event since MayPac, but it should actually be fun to watch too. I hope it jump starts big interest in the sport again.

This is bad news for those hating Canelo and/or Junior. GGG is still away from a sell out of his fight. Recently, diva cotto ended cancelling his PPV fight supposedly for an injury of Kirkland (although same diva cotto was doubtful of it) likely meaning that the demand for the fight was very poor. Maybe Pacquiao gets better numbers and that would bring some comfort to those fans hating Alvarez or Julio.

My original guess was clearly more PPV sales then Khan fight (600K) but less then Cotto fight (900K). Now I'm thinking based on ticket sales and buzz it does more then Cotto fight. One it's on a Mexican Holiday which Cotto fight wasn't and 2 there is real bad blood here between canelo and chavez which will drive the PPV. It has a real shot at being the first fight to crack 1m since the Floyd vs Manny fight.

There's a reason why so many people want/wanted to fight Chavez. His name sells. But if GGG wants to fight him, it's a ***** move. Yeah, makes sense.

''We'll go to 168 to fight Chavez'' (because it makes financial sense) - K2 squad 2015

GBP beat them to it... irony on financial sense #15million

chavez will be lucky to have 20% of the attendance cheering for him...
canelos last attendance was 52k fans while chavez jr was like 2k or 3k, sure budy, chavez selling all those tickets...

But the fight will generate more money in Vegas because the Casinos pay more for the fight, then jack up the ticket prices to attract high rollers and celebs to come to the fight and spend money in the casinos. That's how you generate more money fighting in these smaller more exclusive venues in Vegas then anywhere else. There is a reason why Floyd fought strictly in vegas. It's because that's where the money is. It's not about selling the MOST seats. It's about making the most money and selling your seats for the highest prices and getting the biggest check from the venue for the rights to the fight.

Yep can't remember which fight it was but I remember the mgm grand outbidding jerry jones
