Rid**** Bowe vs Anthony Joshua - how do you play it out?

I'd say Bowe floors Whyte and Chisora on the same night.

    Finally something good

    I like this. Good question.
Bowe in his prime and focused beats everyone today. Prime Bowe would have KO'd glass jaw Lewis if they fought when they were supposed to. The Mgr wanted it to simmer more and it was a big mistake. Pretty much 3 hard fought wins over Holyfield did him in. Bowe would stop Joshua in a 3 round slugfest. Bowe had the jab the chin, the reach and the power to stop him. What more can you say about the guy who outdid peak freaken EVander Holyfield!!!!!

Let Joshua develop into his prime. Bowe at his best was well liked by the sages because he was a complete fighter. Joshua looks great doing what he should be doing.

Heavyweights are a different breed, they have a longer shelf life and their professional prime is often not their physical prime... When looking back at guys as recent as Morrison and Tyson they started out by beating guys they should beat...but doing it absolutely. Thats what Joshua has been doing. Looking at Tyson once again: if we were to take Mike and put him on a different trajectory, where he lived clean, was not put in prison, etc...when he fought Holyfield it would be at his best, not when he was past it.

Joshua's task is to keep his focus and learn the craft. Klitsko should not be a problem for him. It should be similar to when
Tyson fought Page. Then we can start to look at Joshua seriously.

People are highly underating Joshuas inside game ,he from what i see hss the best inside game . He throws excellent combinations from a frontal stance getting maximum leverage on his shots and is able to do that bc he has skills to duck and slip punches in close quarters unlike Bowes sideway parry one . This enables Joshua to use two hands much more effectvely to mix up those head to body shots , Bowe was somewhat limited of just sweeping the right hand across his body .

The footwork is what really seperates them ,Joshua is completely opposite of Bowe . He uses great explosive back and forth movements and resets when openings arent there ,he excells in judging distance and is always just far away to dictate the fight . Ive also noticed he blocks an opponents jab before they throw it and hooks simultaneously at times .

I honestly cant see the slower handed and footed Bowe winning here ,i think not only would you see Golota thudding like jabs land but Joshuas boxing IQ to always create just enough distance to land those short combos and shovel upper cuts all the while keeping distance when he needed would be to much .

And to be fair Tyson and Lewis wasnt fighting anyone like Klitchko in 19 fights ,i think Lewis was fighting Levi Billups or a shot Biggs . If Klitchko wins its bc he can still punch ,hes always a threat and even moreso after a loss .

Thats good technical analysis. And yes it is a big step up for Joshua, perhaps bigger or as big as any heavy weight.
I just think Joshua has to cut his teeth...I wouldn't even pick a winner frankly, I would try to avoid something like what happened to Vargas when he fought Trinidad. Nando had been brought along nicely and certainly had the skill sets (like Joshua) to fight Tito...But the jump was big and it set him up in a bad way.

I think the Klitsko fight is great for Joshua. if he pulls it together and shows he can go in there with ice in his veins then maybe he is ready to fight in his prime. Bowe was a hell of a competitor on his best days.

Another way to think about it is something you and I would certainly understand from martial arts: When training learning to relax under duress, etc lets say we are at 90%....the other 10% would be that we walk in and the guy is raping a kid, or something that gives us laser focus and little regard for our own well being...as a trained fighter we use this to our advantage obviously...

Now... A guy may have started training that very day and show amazing grasp of technique...You know the type lol. BUT the big difference comes when we have to perform for real. While typically a trained martial artist will be at around 60% that guy? would forget everything he learned the minute he was attacked.

Joshua at his best is a supreme talent. How comfortable he is in the ring, executing against the top level is the question.
