There were no unusual or special circumstance with Canelo and GGG, and the consideration of outstanding marketing value clearly would not have applied to GGG vs Canelo, who was a massive "A side" over Golovkin when he still had the WBC title.

I've posted the latest ********* of WBC's own rules on purse bids, and the rule entitling the interim champ to 45% has been removed.
Everyone knows it's 55/45. All the writers reported it as so at the time.

But just because you won't STFU here's proof from the Golovkin Nuthugger Steve Kim that the split was 55/45.

Part of the deal set forth, and agreed to by everyone involved, stipulated that if no agreement was reached, then a purse bid would be set. And instead of the standard 75/25 split in favor of the defending champion, in this case, it was set at 55/45 because of Golovkin’s standing as the WBC interim champion (a distinction he earned by walloping Marco Antonio Rubio back in Oct. of 2014).

Canelo didn't give up his belts because he didn't want to pay GGG. He would have made more money anyway, a lot more.

He didn't give up his belts because he wasn't a middleweight. The mvther****er is fighting at 164.5 in a couple months.

Canelo gave GGG his belt cause he didn't want that work and Oscar wanted to keep his golden duck safe.
So that's why they put him in with Floyd and he was schooled right?

Steve Kim or whatever was wrong. He was also wrong about the 75/25 split in his quote. The WBC rules were given to you.

You're one of the few people who, in the face on facts literally presented to him, denies them with 'oh but everyone knows the facts are wrong'.

....yet you have the nerve to throw 'embarrassment' to someone else?

If you are going to try to embarrass me by posting something a boxing hack wrote, try finding one who knows what the fuck he's talking about. That guy doesn't even get the standard purse split right!

I refer you again to the WBC's own rules and regulations.

The best way to find out about the WBC's rules and regulations, is to read the freaking WBC's rules and regulations, not what some journo says about them, wouldn't you agree?

Losing a decision to Floyd is not quite the same thing as being destroyed by GGG buddy.............

How was he wrong? He's reporting on what was in the deal you ******, you think he just makes it up? Do you know who Steve Kim is?

We have the WBC president saying the rule is 55/45.

We have Steve Kim reporting what was in the agreement, saying 55/45.

We have countless boxing writers like Rafael, Fisher (another massive Golovkin nuthugger), iole etc saying the standard split is 55/45.

But we should ignore them and believe you, because it doesn't say it specifically in the rules? It doesn't say the split is the same as a mandatory challenger in the rules either.

He's reporting on what was in the deal, 75/25 wasn't so it doesn't matter, 55/45 was.

OK where in the rules does it say the Interim champ gets the same split as a mandatory? It says doesn't exceed, which is 50%. In fact in the rules it says the Interim isn't treated the same as a challenger or something similar.
