Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia-Keith Thurman - No Rematch Clause in Contracts

NEW YORK If Danny Garcia-Keith Thurman is a highly competitive fight that leaves doubt about who deserved to win, there's no guarantee that they'll fight again. Garcia confirmed Thursday that there isn't a rematch clause in the contracts for their 12-round welterweight championship unification fight Saturday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn (CBS; 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT).

That means controversial decision. Thurman better go for the KO

Good you don't want to deal with the pathetic unsportsmanlike Kovalev & his ilk.

Finally something for the PBC haters to complain about. Add it to the list along with ring entrances and fighters purses.

Good. Both men have belts, there shouldn't be a rematch clause. Winner moves onto the Brook/Spence winner.

Has Garcia even had a rematch clause in any of his fights?

He never rematched Khan, Herrera or even Peterson. Two of which were controversial.

                  This is looking fishy now.

I see them drawing that out until next year, for some reason.
