Comments Thread For: Mike Mollo Announces His Retirement From Boxing

What I did the other night in the ring just wasn't enough [in TKO loss on Saturday in rematch with Krzysztof Zimnoch]. My body gave out on me, my shoulder gave. My punches didn't have the effect they should have.

Mollo was one tough SOB. His fights were always entertaining. A solid pro & was a good name on the resume. He never got to the elite level but he had many wars with guys who were looking to get there. A solid pro until the day he retired. The type of fighter the sport needs.

I remember his fights with Spilka. Not a world class fighter by any means, but a warrior regardless.

                Best of luck to him.

He gave Andrew Golota hell while Golota was still looking for a last title shot, way back when. Good guy, I wish him all the best.

Enjoy retirement..at least he knew it was time to go. Few others should follow suit *cough* Roy *cough* Jones (whom I have been a fan of since my grandpops took me to see him fight Jorge Vaca).
