Danny Garcia thinks there is much more at stake against Keith Thurman than their welterweight titles. With Floyd Mayweather Jr. retired and Manny Pacquiao not far behind him, Garcia considers his 147-pound championship unification fight against Thurman a prime opportunity to become boxing's next welterweight star. It doesn't hurt, obviously, that their fight Saturday night at Brooklyn's Barclays Center likely will be watched by millions more people on CBS than if Showtime or HBO were to televise it.

Shaving that goofy goatee off will likely make him the face of boxing quicker than doing anything boxing related.

That said, if I'm Danny, I'm going in a completely different direction. I think Angel consciously says his extreme/controversial **** because Danny is so boring and underwhelming. So if I'm Danny, I'm shaving my head bald, maintaining a full beard, tatting my ENTIRE torso the **** up, and adopting a far more hardcore, edgy persona.

Not necessarily a heel persona, but a hardcore, edgy one. Scowling like crazy, delivering every line with a mean mug, sneering and grunting each time Angel goes on one of his rants, etc.

He'll never be the face of boxing, but abandoning his clean cut, God fearing good guy might help him become more of a draw.

Face of boxing.... Lol!! Maybe if u beat Thurman convincingly. B thankful ur record states U R still undefeated with the several close questionable decisions that have all mysteriously gone ur way. U would think U would have given Peterson, Herrera, or Lucas a rematch by now.
