Walters was supposed to be the first guy to "test" Lomachenko, fans were begging for that fight several years. It was the best possible opponent for Loma at that period of time. Now they don't talk about this win, because Walters performance was disappointing but that's not on Loma. Golovkin is yet to face a fighter who's going to test him. This fighter will be Canelo. After Canelo/Golovkin I'll have to put the winner above Lomachenko.

Canelo isn't as dominating and convincing in his fights as Loma. I thought he lost to Lara, but that's just my opinion

Rigo was higher in my p4p list before, besides Ward he's the only fighter in the list who defeated another p4p fighter in Donaire. That fight was 4 years ago, now he's aging and losing relevancy, so he can't be higher in my list, but his skillset is p4p worthy.

There's three main criterias for me

      1) Resume, notable wins - nothing complicated to explain here

      2) Potential and skills - it's basically an "eye test" plus the way fighters dominating the opposition, the reason why Loma is higher than Canelo in my list

      3) Longevity and consistency - for example, that would be ****** to crown Jeff Horn because of only one fight. And I can't put some Thai guy who defeated Roman Gonsalez above fighters who's been relevant and dominant in their divisions for much longer period of time. If some fighter pulled off an upset against p4p'er, he has to prove that the result wasn't lucky coincidence and get some other good win or two. That's why Mikey Garcia is currently higher than Usyk (even if Usyk has better win in Glowacki than anything on Mikey's resume - Broner, Martinez, Salido, Juanma, etc) because Mikey been doing it much longer, he's been on top much longer, but that's going to change as soon as Usyk gets another great wins
GG has wins over the best middleweights around, apart from Canelo. Doesnt that count in the resume category ? Loma has maybe 2 wins if Im goping to include Russel as you did yet GGG has more former champs on his resume, by miles too.

I guess he passes the eye test for you.

Longevity? GGG has it in spades, whereas Loma doesnt.

MW division wasn't that deep plus he never moved up unlike Loma. His best wins are Lemeiuex, Brook and Danny Jacobs. Brook had weight disadvantage, Lemieux is limited and he can't compare to GRJ in terms of skills, or Walters who has wins over p4p fighter like Donaire. Jacobs was a pretty good win, but Golovkin wasn't as dominant as Lomachenko was against Walters (the way you win matters too). I'm not hating on Golovkin, I'm just telling why Loma is higher on the list for me. I guess all of it compensates the fact that Lomachenko doesn't have GGG's longevity. Plus combined win/loss ratio of Loma's opposition is crazy and can't be matched by other boxers

Kovalev can't be P4P no.1 my man. Even if he got stopped illegitimately in my opinion, he still has a stoppage loss for his last fight. No getting around that. GGG is P4P right now and it's undisputed so nowhere else to go for the top spot. The rest of the top 10 is debatable.

My end of year P4P Top 10:

              1. Terence Crawford
              2. Gennady Golovkin
              3. Vasyl Lomachenko
              4. Saul Alvarez
              5. Sergey Kovalev
              6. Anthony Joshua
              7. Juan Francisco Estrada
              8. Naoya Inoue
              9. Keith Thurman
              10. Oleksandr Usyk

I think the only 2 fighters that truly stand out in terms of fluid skills are TC and Loma, 2018 is the year they have to grab boxing by the scruff of its neck.

              That's all folks.

In 2018 Ill be looking out for:

                    -Crawford at 147
-Loma vs one of the top 130lbers or moving up to 135
-Rungvisai vs Estrada (winner going top 5)
-Winner of the Cruiserweight WBSS (to go into top 100
-Winner of Alvarez vs GG II
-Inuoe at 118/getting involved with other top 115lbers

The top 4 seem well set looking at other peoples lists (and my own), though the order seems to change. Alvarez, GG, Crawford and Loma. Hopefully one can seperate themselves next year. All have the chance to

Just an update on what my list was like at the end of last year -

                      1. Terence Crawford
                      2. Gennady Golovkin
                      3. Vasyl Lomachenko
                      4. Saul Alvarez
                      5. Sergey Kovalev
                      6. Anthony Joshua
                      7. Juan Francisco Estrada
                      8. Naoya Inoue
                      9. Keith Thurman
                      10. Oleksandr Usyk

I havent made any changes yet, but the winner of the WBSS will have a say in how things shape up, especially based on the manner of the victory.

Loma, GGG, Canelo and TC can all make big waves and really stake a claim to being the true stand outs.
