I don't think he's underrated, so much as he is underwhelming.

    At least in my opinion.

Danny is underated and under paid. Blame his promoter. He could've been as popular as Trinidad and Cotto.

I see your point -- this fight will probably tell us a lot more about Thurman than Garcia.

I do not rule out the possibility, though, that despite what little Garcia has shown in his past several fights, he may be the kind of fighter who just fights down (or, perhaps, up) to his level of his opposition. You're probably right that we already know all there is to Garcia...but there's a part of me that thinks he can still surprise us. And, if he does surprise us, will people just say that Thurman just wasn't as good as we thought, or will he get any credit?

All that said...I'm pulling for Thurman. He's got a good story and doesn't have an idiot for a father.

I agree that he has been promoted very poorly...but he's not anywhere near as dynamic or exciting as Tito and Cotto were in the ring.

according to his coke head father, a win over Thurman will make him the greatest puerto rican fighter in history.

              LOL

Thought he barely beat Peterson but lost to Herrera in his two closest fights. Given him credit for his 2 biggest wins in Khan and Matthysse. To me it's not so much he is an underrated fighter. Just a difficult guy to like, his dad is a joke and some of his recent fight choices were complete garbage (Salka, Vargas) on top of that he is pretty dull when he talks.

Garcia on the other hand, could have 2 losses in his record already.

That being said, I have to agree that the odds are a bit high. This fight is more 50/50 than Brook-Spence, imo. Pulling for Keith, but because of the odds, money will be placed on DSG.
????? he stopped karass, diaz and collazo.

Clearly beat Matthysse and Khan...that's about it. I know folks love to crow about his resume and all that but to say he's got an impressive resume based off those two fights is hilarious. He clearly lost that fight to Herrera and the Peterson fight he got toyed with.
